New WB country chief takes over today

Newly appointed World Bank (WB) country director Ellen Goldstein will join the Dhaka office in city today, according to a press release.
Goldstein will replace Xian Zhu, who is now the World Bank's Director for Strategy and Operations for the South Asia Region.
Goldstein joined the WB in 1988 as a macroeconomist, and served as a Senior Economist for Bangladesh between 1990 and 1993. For the past thirteen years, she has held managerial positions of
increasing responsibility, including her most recent assignment as Country Manager for Burkina Faso.
For the past two years, Goldstein was on special assignment to the African Development Bank in Tunisia where she served most recently as Director of Quality Assurance and Results.
