Newcomers Cox City upset MSC, BJMC shock Muktijoddha

Newcomers Cox City FC upset country's sports powerhouse Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club beating them by 1-0 goal in a match of the Grameenphone Federation Cup Football at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur Friday, reports UNB.
The traditional black & white team, Mohammedan SC is yet to earn a victory in two matches, as they earlier played to a goalless draw with another newcomer BJMC in the tournament opener Monday last.
Saifuddin scored the match-winner for Cox City FC in the 42nd minute much to the frustration of a handful of Mohammedan supporters in the big bowl.
In the day's other match, BJMC, also a newcomer, shocked national star-studded Muktijoddha Sangsad KC by 3-2 goal in a hard-fought affair at the Bangabandhu National Stadium Friday afternoon..
Medio Abul Hossain put BJMC ahead in the 11th minute with a free kick from 25 yards that found the far corner of the goalpost (1-0). Nigerian striker Abdul Rasheed doubled the margin in the 18th minute by an accurate shot capitalising on a Alfaz through-pass from right flank (2-0)
Last time runners-up Muktijoddha Sangsad came back in the match four minutes later as their striker Chibuik Divine headed home, utilising a Maruf free kick from left flank (2-1).
