Newly married couple \\\'commits suicide\\\' in city

A recently married couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from a ceiling fan in a house at Anandanagar in Badda area of Dhaka city on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Shamim, 20, a furniture shop employee and Rubi, 18. Abdul Jalil, officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station said, Shamim had an affair with Rubi and they got married on Wednesday. As Shamim’s family did not accept the marriage, he went to her sister’s house at Anandanagar for staying there after the marriage. On Sunday morning, the inmates of the house found the couple hanging from a fan in their room, said the OC. The young couple might have committed suicide for family feud over their marriage, he said. On information, Badda thana police recovered the bodies, according to a news agency.
