Newly-wed couple ‘commit suicide’ in city

A recently married couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from a ceiling fan in a house at Anandanagar in the city's Badda area on Sunday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Shamim (20), a furniture shop employee, and Rubi (18).
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Badda thana Abdul Jalil said Shamim had an affair with Rubi and they got married on Wednesday.
As Shamim's family did not accept the marriage, he went to her sister's house at Anandanagar for staying there after the marriage.
On Sunday morning, the inmates of the house found the couple hanging from a fan in their room, said the OC.
