Newly-wed girl commits suicide

KHULNA, Feb 28: A newly-wed girl, who got married three months ago, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling over a family feud at village Bharghata under Morrelgonj upazila of Bagerhat district Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Sharmin Akhter Mitu (18) daughter of Tuku Fakir of village Bharaghata of the upazila.
Police and local sources said that Sharmin Akhter got married with Mahbubur Rahman, son of late Abdus Sattar of village Khaulia of the upazila three months back. But her husband and and other members of her in-laws house used to torture Sharmin over trifling matters. On Tuesday she came to her parent's house with her husband and committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling.
