One crushed under train in Sirajganj
SIRAJGANJ, June 26: An unidentified man was crushed under the wheels of a train in Sadar upazila of Sirajganj on Sunday. The deceased, aged around 50, could not be identified yet, said police. Md Harun-ur-Rashid Mridha, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sirajganj Bazar Railway Police Station (GRP), said Dhaka-bound 'Sirajganj Express' train hit the man while he was crossing the railway tracks at Saydabad around 7am, leaving him dead on the spot. The body was sent to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, he said. A case was also filed in this regard, he added. — UNB
Man dies falling off under-construction bldg
CHATTOGRAM, June 26: A 40-year-old man died falling off an under-construction building at Khulshi of Chattogram port city on Sunday, said police. The deceased was identified as Md Yusuf, a diploma engineer by profession. Sadequr Rahman, inspector of Panchlaish Police Station of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, said Yusuf sustained serious injuries when he fell from the sixth floor of an under-conduction building located on Technical Road in the Khulshi area. Later, he was taken to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead. — UNB
Rajbari road accident kills two
GOALANDA, Rajbari, June 26 (UNB): Two people were killed and another was injured when a truck rammed a motorbike on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Goalanda upazila of Rajbari district on Saturday night, police said on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Rony Kha, 32, son of Abdul Jalil Kha of Sadar upazila in Faridpur district and Sumon Talukdar, 35, son of Hasan Talukdar of Shariatpur district. Tarikul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ahladipur Highway Police Station, said the accident occurred around 10:30pm when the speedy truck hit the motorbike carrying three people, leaving two dead on the spot and another injured. — UNB
Man goes missing as boat sinks in Chandpur
CHANDPUR, June 26: A man went missing after a boat capsized in the Dhangoda river in Chandpur district on Friday, police said on Saturday. The missing man was identified as Hazrat Ali, 38, a boatman and a resident of Kawadi Nandanpur village of Daudkandi upazila (Cumilla). According to police, the brick-laden boat capsized in the river at Nandalalpur around 5.30pm on Friday. — UNB
