Chars to get power thru submarine cable in Shariatpur
Submarine cable connectivity and power sub-stations were inaugurated on Monday at Char Atra and Char Naopara of Naria upazila in Shariatpur. Organising Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shameem was present at the inauguration ceremonies held separately on the occasion. The power connectivity running underneath the Padma River is the second of its kind in Bangladesh, after the first initiative taken for Swandip Upazila.

Eid Extravaganza in Ctg from Apr 25
CHATTOGRAM, Apr.23: The two-day Eid Extravaganza will kick off at Hotel Peninsula in Chattogram city from April 25 next. At a press conference held at the Chattogram Press Club on Tuesday noon, the organisers said, "Pro Vice Chancellor of Chattogram University (CU) Professor Dr Shirin Akter will be present at the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest on April 25." "Besides, the women entrepreneurs of Chattogram will participate in the Eid Extravaganza which is to start in the port city for third time," the press conference was told.
