32 die in Zimbabwean bus accident
HARARE, Apr 15: At least 32 people died Thursday night when a bus carrying members of the Zion Christian Church was involved in an accident in Chipinge, southeastern Zimbabwe. State broadcaster ZBC reported Friday that about 40 others were seriously injured in the accident which happened near the Jopa Market at around 11 p.m. This marks a bad beginning to the Easter weekend. — Xinhua

North Korea celebrates founding leader's birthday
SEOUL, Apr 15: North Korea marked the birthday of its founding leader on Friday, with a rare "live" broadcast of celebrations in Pyongyang, but no sign of the military parade or weapons tests that many analysts had predicted. Known as the Day of the Sun in the nuclear-armed North, the April 15 birthday of the late Kim Il Sung-grandfather of current leader Kim Jong Un-is one of the most important dates in Pyongyang's political calendar. Clashes in Shanghai over lockdown evictions
BEIJING, Apr 15: Video has emerged of clashes between police and people being forced out of their homes in Shanghai, as the city enters a third week of Covid lockdown. Some residential compounds are being turned into quarantine centres. Millions are confined to their homes as Shanghai battles a fresh outbreak of the virus.
