MBSTU student killed in
Tangail motorcycle crash
TANGAIL, Nov 25: A third-year student of a public university was killed in Tangail after his motorcycle crashed into another two-wheeler Thursday night, police said. The deceased identified as Nurul Absar Jewel, 24, was a student of the textile department of the Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) and from Ramu upazila, Cox's Bazar. "The accident occurred at around 07:30 pm in the Sabalia area of Tangail town as Jewel's motorcycle collided with another motorcycle. — UNB
Two get life in prison for
fourth-grader murder
AGERHAT, Nov 25: A Bagerhat court on Thursday sentenced two men to life imprisonment for the 2019 murder of a four-grader. Senior Judge Md Rabiul Islam of Bagerhat District and Sessions Judge Court gave the order in the presence of the convicts. The lifers are Kawsar Sheikh, 53, and Imdadul Shikder, 23, from Kartik Dia village of Sadar upazila. — UNB
Car servicing centre fire guts five vehicles in Rajshahi city
RAJSHAHI, Nov 25: A fire started at a car servicing centre in Rajshahi city's Varendra College area early Friday and quickly spread to a nearby 10-storey building, fire service said. The blaze gutted five cars of the servicing centre, some valuables and a restaurant on the second floor of the building. One resident of the building was sent to the hospital as he fell sick after inhaling smoke. — UNB
