Teen boy dies in Khulna,
as 'mosquito coil sparks fire in bus'
A teenage transport worker has died as a parked bus caught fire in Khulna city. The incident occurred around 2am on Friday at the Sonadanga Interdistrict Bus Terminal. The victim, Md Sharif, was a native of Munshiganj's Srinagar. The 16-year-old was an assistant to the driver of the bus. The Sundarban Paribahan bus, which ran on the Dhaka-Khulna route, was parked inside the terminal, according to transport workers. They saw a sudden fire burning inside the bus and informed the Fire Service and Civil Defence. "We assume Sharif fell asleep after lighting a mosquito repellent coil inside the bus, which ignited the fire," said police officer Shafiqul Islam. — bdnews24.com

20 people injured, as bus
overturns in Rangamati
Twenty people have been injured after a bus overturned in Rangamati's Manikchari. The passengers on the bus were on their way to Rajban Bihar for a religious event. The bus veered out of control and overturned as it reached the Bir Srestha Munshi Abdur Rouf Square area at the entrance to Manikchari town on Friday morning.
