Missing tourist found dead in Sylhet
SYLHET, July 04 (UNB): A 23-year-old tourist, who went missing from Sada Pathor area of Companiganj upazila in Sylhet on Sunday, was found dead after 44 hours on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam, son of Abul Kalam of Mirpur area of the capital. Lusikanto Hajong, Companiganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer, said, Salam along with his five friends went to Sada Pathor tourist spot on Sunday. When they jumped into Dhalai river in the area for bathing strong current washed away Salam. On information, local people and divers from the local firefighting unit rushed to the spot and conducted a rescue operation. — UNB
Motorcyclist hit by bus in N'ganj dies
A motorcyclist who was hit by a bus in Narayanganj's Araihazar upazila died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The deceased was identified as Murad Mridha, 22. He was a student of Mohammadpur Central College. Monir Mridha, father of the deceased, said: "He went out in the morning. He said he would return home in the afternoon. But he didn't say where he would go. Later, I got the news that he was in a motorcycle accident." The accident took place at Banty village in Narayanganj's Araihazar upazila. However, the details of the accident couldn't be known immediately. According to witnesses, Mridha was initially taken to a local hospital in Araihazar upazila. — UNB
Mother, daughter found hanging in M’singh
MYMENSINGH, July 04 (UNB): Police recovered the hanging bodies of a woman and her minor daughter from their house in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh on Tuesday morning. The deceased were Synthia Akter, 24, and her three and a half year old daughter, of Jamirdiya Masterbari Dakshinpara area of the upazila. Synthia used to live with her husband Jahid Hossain, a readymade garment (RMG) worker, and the daughter at a rented house in the area. — UNB
