Gas cylinder blast injures four in city
Four workers suffered burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at the city's Green Road. They were identified as Mohammad Russel, 32, Foyez Hossain, 20, Rakib, 20, and Sumon, 18. The incident took place at the 'Pearl Green' building on Green Road around 9.00am on Sunday. The workers were carrying out paintwork on the groundfloor of the building when the blast occurred. The injured were admitted to the burn unit of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). — bdnews24.com
65-day fishing ban in Sundarbans begins today
KHULNA, June 30: The Forest Department has imposed a 65-day ban on fishing in all canals in the Sundarbans from July 01 to August 31 to ensure safe breeding and preservation of fish and other aquatic animals. This fishing ban has been imposed immediately after the end of a 65-day ban on fishing in the Bay of Bengal that continued until June 30. Fishing will remain prohibited in nearly 400 canals to ensure safe breeding and preservation of fish and stop illegal fishing using poison. — UNB
