JS body recommends settlement of 212 audit objections
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts has recommended settlement of 212 audit objections, included in the report of Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), involving a total of Tk 2.22 billion. The committee made the recommendation at its 75th meeting held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here. It discussed special objections included in the CAG's special audit report on the collection of Medical and Surgical Requisites (MSR) during the fiscal years 2007-08 and 2009-10 under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and recommended settlement of 10 objections.—BSS
US sanctions Myanmar army officer
WASHINGTON, Dec 21: The United States on Thursday imposed sanctions on 52 individuals and entities for alleged human rights violations and corruption, including Myanmar military officer Maung Maung Soe, who oversaw a brutal crackdown against the Rohinga, the US Treasury Department said. — Reuters
PEC exam results Dec 30
The results of this year's Primary Education Completion (PEC) and its equivalent Ebtedayee examinations will be published on December 30. Primary and Mass Education Minister Mustafizur Rahman will hand over the copies of the results to the Prime Minister at 11:00 am at Ganabhaban. The Minister will then announce the results at a press
