JS passes BSTI Bill with provisions for harsher punishment
A bill titled 'The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution Act, 2018' was passed in Parliament on Sunday, incorporating the provisions of harsher punishment in the existing law. Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu moved the Bill and it was passed by voice vote. According to the draft law, the use of trademark without having a licence will be considered as an offence. — UNB
Two die in Cox's Bazar 'gunfight'
COX'S BAZAR, Oct 28: Two suspected drug traders were killed in a reported gunfight with police in Katabunia of Teknaf upazila early Sunday. The deceased were identified as Hasan Ali, 24, and Mohammad Kamal, 24. — UNB
