Next phase of UP polls to begin in May: Sakhawat

Next phase of the Union Parishad (UP) elections, third tier of the local government administration, will begin in May, an Election Commissioner said Wednesday, reports UNB. The Election Commission (EC) at a meeting Wednesday with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dr ATM Shamsul Huda in the chair took the decision on holding the polls in the remaining UPs. Election Commissioner M Sohul Hussain and Brig Gen (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, EC Secretary Dr M Sadik and other officials attended the meeting.
