NHRC concerned over petrol bomb, arson attacks

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has expressed its deep concern over the Monday's petrol-bomb and arson attacks in different places of the country that left several persons injured.
In a press release Tuesday, the NHRC mentioned that six people were injured in separate petrol-bomb attacks on a truck in Rangunia of Chittagong, three vehicles in Bogra and cocktail blast in Dhaka.
Six people were also burnt and four others, including two children, were injured in a cocktail attack on an auto-rickshaw in Sylhet Monday, it added.
The commission, however, requested the authorities concerned to take necessary measures to provide proper treatment to the injured victims.
"The people, involved in the violent activities, will have to be brought to the book," the NHRC said, adding that "The state will have to ensure the people's rights to live safely."
The commission also called upon all parties concerned to maintain patience for the sake of human rights in the country.
