Nifty turns positive, HUL, Maruti, Suzlon, Cairn up

MUMBAI, June 23 (Economic Times): Equities were witnessing a volatile session ahead of June series F&O expiry. Benchmarks moved in the positive terrain led by pharma, realty and auto stocks after languishing in the red for major part of the day.
At 2:25 pm, National Stock Exchange's Nifty was at 5325.50, up 8.95 points or 0.17 per cent. The broader index touched a low of 5288.15 and high of 5333.30 in trade so far.
Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex was at 17761.08, up 11.39 points or 0.06 per cent. It touched intraday low of 17629.19 and high of 17782.41.
BSE Midcap Index was up 0.75 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.69 per cent higher.
Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Healthcare Index advanced 1.16 per cent, BSE Realty Index moved 1.07 per cent higher and BSE Auto Index edged 0.91 per cent higher.
Hindustan Unilever (2.27 per cent), Maruti (2.13 per cent), Suzlon (1.77 per cent), Sun Pharma (1.69 per cent) and Cairn (1.52 per cent) were the top Nifty gainers.
Losers included L&T (-3.45 per cent), HCL Tech (-2.22 per cent), NTPC (-1.73 per cent), Sterlite Industries (-1.65 per cent) and Jindal Steel (-1.40 per cent).
Market breadth was positive on the NSE with 1906 advances against 1176 declines.
The European markets were in the negative territory mirroring losses in global peers. FTSE 100 was down 0.51 per cent, CAC 40 slipped 0.86 per cent and DAX moved 0.41 per cent lower.
