Nine dengue deaths in highest daily count this year

Bangladesh has recorded nine more deaths from dengue fever over the past 24 hours as daily fatalities rose to a year high, reports bdnews24.com.
Another 740 people were hospitalised with the Aedes-mosquito borne disease in the last 24 hours, which is also a yearly high, the health directorate reported on Sunday.
This brings the total number of deaths due to the disease  to 179 this year, and the total number of hospitalisations this year to 40,461.
According to the health directorate's bulletin, the tally of deaths for Sunday includes three fatalities from Saturday, totalling 12 deaths. Therefore, nine deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours.
Earlier, six people died of the mosquito-borne illness on Sept 11.
