Nine persons killed in separate incidents

Nine persons were killed and many others injured in separate incidents in different places of the country during the last two days, report agencies.
In Magura, a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident on the Magura-Jhenaidah Road at Alamkhali in Sadar Upazila Friday.
In Chittagong, sliced body of a young woman, packed in a suitcase, was recovered from Chowdhury Hat in Hathazari Upazila here Friday.
The police said on information they went to the area and found the suitcase near a community centre. They found the body aged about 27 cut into pieces in the suitcase.
In Naogaon, two people were killed and five others injured in a fatal road accident at Khoratoli in Mohadevpur Upazila Thursday.
Witnesses said the accident occurred at about 12 noon when a Noagon bound bus hit a passenger van coming from opposite direction, leaving two van passengers Damnesh Ali and Ashraful Islam dead on the spot.
In Rangpur, a school student was killed by a speedy truck at Angrar Bridge point on the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway under Pirganj Wednesday.
The sources said a Dhaka-bound truck from Rangpur knocked the bicycle while Sudarshan and his classmate Sunil of village Rajarampur in the upazila were returning home by a bicycle from Pirganj Bangabandhu High School.
Sudarshan, a class seven student of the school, was killed on the spot and his friend Sunil was rushed to the Rangpur Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
In Sylhet, a teenaged boy was killed and his friend injured by unidentified assailants in Moulvibazar district.
The deceased was identified as Rubel Ahmed, son of Haji Sonu Miah of Laxmipur village in Dakkhin Surma Upazila of Sylhet.
In Barguna, a woman was allegedly slaughtered by her husband following a family feud at Dakkhin Bhora village in Betagi Upazila Wednesday morning.
Local people said an altercation took place between Abdul Gaffar and his wife Minara Tuesday night when Minara refused to cook chicken as desired by Gaffar.
On Wednesday morning Gaffar picked up a quarrel with her over the issue and at one stage he slaughtered her. Later, local people caught him and handed him over to the police.
In Gaibandha, a minor child went missing and 25 other people received injuries in a boat capsize in river Brahmaputra here Wednesday morning.
The police said the Fulchhari-bound boat, carrying around 100 people from Balashighat, broke into several pieces after hitting a railway barge on the river.
In Barisal, a bicycle rider was crushed under the wheels of a coach in Ichhakati area of the city on the Barisal-Dhaka Highway Wednesday morning.
