Nine robbers held with gold in city

Detectives arrested nine alleged members of a robbers' gang, including its ringleader, from the city's Diabari area on Friday night, reports UNB.
The arrestees were identified as ringleader Ibrahim, Al Amin, Siddique, Alamgir, Riaz Uddin, Khairul, Shahidul, Abdur Rob and Abdul Halim.
Talking to journalists at a press briefing at DMP media centre, Joint Commissioner (DB) Monirul Islam said tipped-off, a team of DB police conducted a drive in Diabari area under Turag thana and arrested them.
The law enforcers also recovered four tolas of gold ornaments from their possession.
As per the information of the arrestees, the DB team also arrested Abdur Rob and Halim, who are also jewelers.
