Nine sentenced to life term

JAMALPUR, Sept 3 (UNB): The court of District and Sessions Judge here Sunday sentenced nine people to life term imprisonment in a murder case.
The convicts were identified as Munna, Dudu, Sona, Shah Alam, Lutfur, Golam Mostafa, Raham Ali, Rahimuddin and Shamsul Huq Shamsu. Of them, Munna and Dudu were tried in absentia.
According to the prosecution Mohammad Ali alias Chata (60) of Dhanua village under Bakshiganj Upazila, went missing on the night of June 22, 2004 while returning home by a motorbike after attending an invitation at his neighbour's house. Later, his body was recovered next morning from a paddy field.
