Nirmal Sen gets Tk 0.5m for treatment

TUNGIPARA (Gopalganj), Dec 31 (BSS): Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina has donated Tk 0.5 million for the treatment of elderly politician, journalist and writer Nirmal Sen.
Sheikh Hasina who arrived here today on a daylong official visit, handed over the cheque for the amount to Nirmal Sen on the sideline of a reception to those who secured GPA-5 in Gopalganj district at Bangabandhu Majar Complex.
Nirmal Sen, a confirmed bachelor, has been suffering from paralysis and other old age complications. He is now staying at his village home Kotalipara of Gopalganj district.
Chairman of the Standard Bank Ltd Qazi Akram Uddin Ahmed was present at that time.
