Nitol, Tata launch new distribution network, organise festival

Tata Motors and its distributor Nitol Motors recently announced the setting up of a new distribution network for Tata Genuine Parts (TGPs), used in various Tata commercial vehicles in Bangladesh.
The proposed network, consisting of 30 authorised parts outlets across the country, and a corporate showroom in the city, will ensure widespread availability of TGPs that will reduce the overall lifetime cost of the vehicles of Bangladeshi Tata users.
Besides, Nitol-Tata also organised a four-day countrywide mega service campaign in its 10 service centres across the country from June 7-10. The programme included free diagnostics, health-checkups and service of Tata commercial vehicles as well as counseling of vehicle operators on the effectiveness of preventive maintenance practices. All the drivers were also provided with counseling of HIV prevention and eye check-up. Over 2,800 drivers with their vehicles attended the programme.
Moreover, a daylong cultural extravaganza for the Tata customers and selected stakeholders of the commercial vehicle industry in Bangladesh was organised at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Convention Centre, where the latest EX range Tata Euro-II and Euro-III emission complaint commercial vehicles were displayed.
The 'Nitol-Tata Utsab' was inaugurated by Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Pinak Ranjan Chakravorty. Among others, Nitol Group Chairman Abdul Matlub Ahmad, Tata Group Resident Director Manzer Hussain, Tata Motors of India General Manager (Customer Care) SM Sharma, and Nitol Motors Head (Sales) Mustak Ahmad also spoke on the occasion.

NITA Ltd, a joint-venture company of Tata Motors and Nitol Motors, have so far assembled and sold over 13,500 Tata vehicles. They have recently diversified into bus and truck body manufacturing, said a press release.
Tata Motors is India's largest automobile company, with revenues of US$7.4 billion in 2006-07. With over 4 million Tata vehicles plying in India, it is the leader in commercial vehicles and the second largest in passenger vehicles. It is also the world's fifth largest medium and heavy truck manufacturer and the second largest heavy bus manufacturer. Tata cars, buses and trucks are being marketed in several countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia and South East Asia and in Australia. Tata Motors and Fiat Auto have formed an industrial joint venture in India to manufacture passenger cars, engines and transmissions for the Indian and overseas markets. Tata Motors also has an agreement with fiat Auto to build a pick-up vehicle at Cordoba, Argentina. The company already distributes Fiat-branded cars in India. Tata Motors' international footprint include Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co. Ltd. in South Korea; Hispani Carrocera, a bus and coach manufacturer of Spain in which the company has a 21% stake; a joint venture with Marcopolo, the Brazil-based body-builder of buses and coaches; and a joint venture with Thonburi Automotive Assembly Plant Company of Thailand to manufacture and market pickup vehicles in Thailand. Tata Motors has research centers in India, the UK, and in its subsidiary and associate companies in South Korea and Spain.
Nitol Motors is one of Bangladesh's largest and most respected automobile related companies. The company has the most extensive service and spares network in Bangladesh. Nitol Motors has a state-of-the-art commercial vehicle workshop at Tongi with 36 bays to service Tata commercial vehicles. This is complemented by a network of 10 workshops located across the country. Nitol Motors also has a financing division which provides a one-stop window for hire-purchase of Tata vehicles on easy installment basis.
