Saturday, 17 November 2007

Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Motiur Rahman Nizami expressed deep shock at the loss of lives and property caused by a powerful cyclone that with all its fury and ferocity lashed country's south and southwestern regions since Thursday midnight, reports UNB.
In a statement Friday, the Jamaat leader called upon affluent sections of the society and other social welfare organisations, particularly his party leaders and activists, to come forward in aid of the affected people.
He urged the government to allow free access of all, with permission from the local administration, for providing relief materials to the distressed people.
He also prayed for peace of those killed in the calamity and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved families of the deceased and those who sustained injuries and were affected.
