Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami has dismissed as blatant lie some media reports that he had influenced former State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfozzaman Babar to relieve terror Emon and his associate Shahadat of a murder charge, reports UNB.
Arrested terror Sanjidul Islam Emon reportedly made such a statement to this effect to CID during interrogation.
"This is a blatant lie and information terrorism… This is a prelude to new conspiracy against the Islamic movement," Nizami told the news agency Tuesday.
Kolkata CID had handed over Emon and another terror Ishaque to Bangladesh police.
The Jamaat chief said this falsehood has got similarity with the crooked strategies adopted by the Zionists in different countries of the Muslim world against the Islamic movement.
"I like to make a categorical statement that our political doctrine and ideology never allow any tier of our party to have link with the underworld," he said, adding: "This (Emon's statement) is an arranged matter."
