Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami, standing trial for crimes against humanity in the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), has recovered from his illness, says a health report by the Dhaka Central Jail authorities. The report has been sent to the registrar of ICT. ICT deputy registrar Arunava Chakravarty said ‘The report sent by the jail authorities has said he is now well.’ The verdict in Nizami’s case was to have been pronounced on June 24 but was withheld as Nizami was unable to be present in court because of high blood pressure, according to bdnews24.com.
