NKorea denies nuclear links with Syria

Wednesday, 19 September 2007

SEOUL, Sept 18 (AFP) : North Korea's foreign ministry Tuesday denied allegations that the communist country may be helping Syria develop a nuclear weapons facility.
"Recently some US media including the New York Times have been spreading allegations that we are secretly helping Syria with its nuclear programme. Such reports are groundless and misleading," a ministry spokesman said.
He dismissed reports by The New York Times and Washington Post last week that North Korea could be helping the US' arch-rival Syria build a nuclear weapons facility
