No AL prog centring Khaleda's graft case verdict, says Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Sunday there is no need of declaring any programme centring the verdict of BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia's graft case, reports BSS.
"In view of their activities and statements, it seems that BNP wants to heat-up the political field centring the verdict of Zia Orphanage Corruption case...but we would not fall into the trap," he told a meeting in front of party office in the city's Bangabandhu Avenue.
Awami Jubo League Dhaka South city unit organised the meeting, protesting the BNP's terrorist and militant activities.
Quader said, "We would not declare any counter programme centring the graft case verdict as we are in power under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina...we will face any situation in cool headed."
He said the law enforcement agencies would do everything to protect the common people's lives and their properties if BNP wants to create unstable situation centring the verdict.
Quader said the BNP itself gave a verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust Graft case before the court verdict by changing Clause 7 of the party constitution.
As per the clause of the constitution of BNP, Quader said, no corrupt person or terrorist can be a member of the party. If Khaleda is convicted by the court, she cannot remain as a member of BNP.
Awami Jubo League (AJL) Chairman Mohammad Omar Faruque Chowdhury, Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokan and AJL General Secretary Md Harunur Rashid, among others, spoke with AJL South Unit President Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat in the chair.
