Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said there is no alternative to dialogue and the Awami League believes in dialogue to solve any problem, reports BSS.
"We think everything can be resolved through dialogue as well as discussion. The Awami League believes in going ahead with the people's power," he said while responding to a question after attending the distribution ceremony of the Independence Award for the fire service personnel at the fire service and civil defence headquarters Wednesday.
Another report adds: Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member and central 14-party alliance coordinator and spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu Tuesday said no one was called to join dialogue over the next general elections.
"Nobody will be invited to dialogue. No dialogue has been called yet over the election issue. Elections will be held as per the constitution. All the political parties must participate in the election following the constitution," he said.
The veteran AL came up with the remarks while speaking at a discussion on the Six-Point Day, organized by the ruling party, at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the city.
