\\\'No alternative to properly educating children\\\'

RANGPUR, Feb 22 (BSS): Speakers at a reception ceremony today said there is no alternative to properly educating the children to make them worthy citizens for building an ideal and enlightened society and prosperous nation in future.
They put emphasis on ensuring proper management in primary schools for conducting academic activities amid child-friendly congenial atmosphere under effective supervision of the school managing committees (SMCs).
Fulbari Area Development Programme (ADP) of World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) organised the reception ceremony for pre-primary and primary school students at BGB Government Primary School in Aladipur union of Fulabri upazila in Dinajpur.
Mrs Manjuri Zahid, wife of Commanding Officer of Fulabri 29 BGB battalion Lt Colonel Zahid, attended the ceremony as the chief guest with President of Parents'-Teachers' Assembly (PTA) of BGB Government Primary School Dr Liyakat Ali in the chair.
Fulabri Upazila Assistant Education Officer Mostafizur Rahman, Fulbari ADP Manger of WVB Pabitra B Costa and its Programme Officer Pallabi Murmu addressed the ceremony as special guests.
Headmasters of the BGB Government Primary School (GPS), Melabari GPS,
Rangamati GPS, Aladipur GPS and Gokul GPS under Aladipur union of Fulabri upazila, students, their guardians, SMC and PTA members and public representatives were present.
A total of 78 new pre-primary level students were accorded reception and 362 primary students of these schools bade farewell in the ceremony for their brilliant results in the last Primary School Certificate (PSC) examinations.
The invited guests welcomed all of the pre-primary level new students and outgoing primary students of these institutions with wreaths for their brilliant results in the PSC examinations and distributed one school bag and five note books among each of them.
In their speeches, the speakers put importance on the pre-primary level education in the primary schools for preparing the minor children with basic foundation for starting their formal education in the primary level schools.
They called for ensuring quality education amid children-friendly atmosphere through improving the learning and teaching methodologies to make education more interesting for the children with joint cooperation of the teachers, SMC and PTA members.
