No arrests in Pabna farmer murder case yet

PABNA, Mar 18: Family members of a slain farmer Alamgir Hossain in a press conference at the Pabna press club on Tuesday claimed that the killers are moving freely due to reluctance of police while the victim's family remains under the threat.
On December 22 last year Alamgir Hossain who hailed from Penchakola village of Bera Upazila in Pabna was hacked to death in a crowded market over a land dispute. A case was filed against 9 criminals in this regard.
Mst Alema Khatun, wife of the victim said, "The accused criminals belonged to ruling party men and that they are influential in the area so the police dare not arrest them. The criminals are moving freely."
One of the accused arrested but he was freed in bail even threaten to the victim's family, she claimed adding that despite continuous pressure on cops no more accused held in connection with the incident.
