No bar to arrest persons against whom warrants of arrest issued: Sahara

Sunday, 28 March 2010

Home Minister Sahara Khatun Saturday said there is no bar to arrest the persons against whom warrants of arrest were issued in connection with war crimes cases, reports UNB.
"They must be arrested… there is no need to issue new directives from the Home Ministry," she told the newsmen after attending a prize distribution ceremony at Azampur School and College at Uttara Saturday.
The Home Minister said that the newly constituted investigation agency will carry out investigation against the people who were involved in the war crimes and the agency will take the decision regarding the arrest.
She said the day is not far when the war criminals will be put on trial.
Earlier, she said Moshtaque-Zia governments had 'distorted the history of Bangladesh's independence and school students were taught distorted history'.
She said the government will bring back the six absconding convicts, who are hiding abroad, and the court verdict in the Bangabandhu murder case will be executed.
