No bias, no favouritism in upcoming elections
CEC tells EC officials
FE REPORT | Sunday, 28 September 2025
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin on Saturday called upon the Election Commission (EC) officials to discharge their duties with impartiality and due diligence ahead of the upcoming national parliamentary elections.
"We do not expect that anyone of you would work in favour of a party," said the CEC at the 'Election Officers Conference 2025' held at the Nirbachan Bhaban in the city.
"And today you have already promised that you will not act with any bias in favour of any individual," he added.
Organised by the Bangladesh Election Commission Officers Association, the event was attended by four election commissioners as special guests. Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed was also present.
Terming the Election Commission a 'family' and himself as its 'head', CEC Nasir Uddin said the current commission has made good progress in implementing new plans since assuming office. He, however, said that working in Bangladesh is very difficult. "Given the current situation in the country, it becomes quite easy for certain groups to get things done, while for most others, it is difficult."
