\\\'No concerts, fairs on sports grounds\\\'

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Youth and Sports Ministry recommended Sunday proper steps to stop arrangement of any concert, fair and other cultural programmes on sports grounds, reports UNB.
It also suggested building more green sports grounds in the capital and other districts with a view to flourishing the potentials of players.
The committee came up with the recommendations at its second meeting held with its chairman Zahid Ahsan Russel in the chair.
The JS body recommended repairing the damages caused to the Bangabandhu National Stadium, changing the old athletics tracks and regular maintenance of the ground for facilitating proper training of the country's players before taking part in international competitions.
The meeting also elaborately discussed issues relating to the National Sports Council and Cycling Federation.
The committee suggested that necessary funds be allocated in the next national budget for promoting prospective games and providing training to the players to improve their standards.

Deputy Minister Arif Khan Joy, Golam Faruk Khandakar Prince, Kabirul
Haque and Nahim Razzaq were, among others, present.
