No data on siphoned off money: Muhith

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) of the central bank does not have any data on how much money has so far been siphoned off abroad, Finance Minister AMA Muhith told Parliament Tuesday, reports UNB.
Efforts are on to sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) with various countries to bring back the siphoned off money from abroad, he said, replying to a starred question of M Faridul Haque Khan (Jamalpur-2).
The Finance Minister also said that the BFIU unit of Bangladesh Bank is working ceaselessly to bring back such money from abroad.
He said an opportunity might come to know and have adequate data on the siphoned off money once the MoUs are signed.
