No job yet for BCS finalists

Saturday, 21 June 2014

Although seven months have passed since the final results of 33rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams were declared, the finalists have not yet been offered jobs, reports bdnews24.com.
The candidates are frustrated over the impasse. Some are saying they are in financial crisis, while others are saying they are going to surpass the maximum age for civil service appointment.
The public administration ministry said posting for 33rd BCS was underway but would not specify a date.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) declared the final results for the 33rd BCS on Nov 21 last year, recommending 8,529 candidates to be appointed to various cadre services.
Atiqul Islam, who is waiting to be appointed to the education cadre, said, "No one is saying anything about our appointment. No appointment means no money."
Public Administration Senior Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury said the ministry was working on the posting of 33rd BCS candidates but would not say when this would be done.
