No one will be able to halt advancement of BD: Hasina

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Sunday urged all, including the student community, to remain alert against those committed the August 15 and August 21 killings, and now want to foil the achievements of independence and deter the country’s advancement.
The Prime Minister was addressing a students’ rally organised in memory of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib at city’s Suhrawardy Uddyan, according to a news agency.
Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL) organised the rally with its President HM Badiuzzaman Sohagh in the chair.
Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League President, said there are some people who do not feel comfort with the country’s march forward as they were the cohorts of the defeated forces. “They didn’t want the country’s independence as they were the pimps and foot-sucking dogs of General Yahia. They’re still there in our society and on Bangladesh’s soil.”
The Awami League chief said no one would be able to halt the advancement of Bangladesh to be based on science and technology -- ‘Digital Bangladesh’ -- as this country is built on the Father of the Nation’s ideology.
Noting that the student community has immense contributions to every achievement of the country, Hasina stressed the need for strengthening the student organisation of BCL to build future leaders based on Bangabandhu’s ideology.
