No peace without justice
Thursday, 12 May 2011
There must not be any confusion among US policymakers and leaders of the Western countries that the peace they seek to establish worldwide, will simply not come about by maltreating Muslims, such as in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine.
Long oppressed and suppressed people who deserve self-determination, but have been denied the same for decades, are breeding grounds of militants. They will not lay down their weapons, but will likely become more and more desperate to hit out at their perceived oppressors.
Thus, for the US government to think that it can create peaceful living condition for its citizens, while going all out against the Muslims in the name of anti-terrorism operation, is very unrealistic. Lasting peace cannot be achieved by trying to keep peoples and nations under the heels of a superior military power.
