No possibility of conflict from AL side on July 27 rally: Quader

Tuesday, 25 July 2023

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said there is no possibility of conflict from the party's side during the rally on July 27, report agencies.
"Awami League will not instigate any violence. However, the government will ensure the safety of people's lives and property if violent incidents occur," he said while addressing the introductory meeting of the party's education and human resources sub-committee at its central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the city on Monday.
"We will never incite any conflict. We are in power. We want to run the country peacefully. We want a peaceful election," he also said.
"Around 70 per cent of the country's population is eagerly waiting to vote for AL. People are our strength, and we are not afraid of anyone," he said.
Commenting on student politics, he said, "The beauty of student politics has lost some shine, and we need to revive its former glory."
Quader also said, "There has been a quiet revolution happening in the development of Digital Bangladesh by Sajeeb Wazed. He works in silence and does not seek self-promotion."
BNP turns its rally, wherever the party holds, into a picnic party, Quader said, adding, "I want to remind them one thing, they should bring more mosquito coils so that their activists, coming for movement, do not to be admitted into hospitals being contracted with dengue".
AL's Education and Human Resources Subcommittee Chairman Professor Dr Abdul Khalek presided over the programme while AL Education and Human Resources Secretary Shamsunnahar Chapa moderated it.
Meanwhile, Obaidul Quader said BNP dream of coming to power by removing Sheikh Hasina will never come true.
"BNP is obsessed with gaining power and behaving recklessly in their attempts to remove Sheikh Hasina from office," he said at a 'peace and development rally against terrorism and anarchy' organised by the Upazila Awami League at Basurhat Municipal Auditorium in Noakhali's Companigonj upazila on Sunday.
"BNP won't even win 10 seats in an election with a caretaker government. Their complaints to foreigners would not be fruitful, but rather result in disappointment," he said.
"Fakhrul made derogatory remarks about Sheikh Hasina and me during a public meeting in Noakhali, how can someone use such language?" he questioned.
The AL leader praised Sheikh Hasina for her development work over the past 48 years and pointed out that BNP leaders cannot see these achievements because of their blindness to progress.
