No possibility of mid-term polls

SIRAJGANJ, Aug 7 (BSS): Awami League (AL) presidium member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said on Friday there is no possibility of holding the mid-term polls in Bangladesh.
Pointing at BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, the senior AL leader said, "You (Begum Zia) are demanding election, but that (polls) would be held as per schedule in the year 2019 after expiry of the tenure of the government, not a day before."
Mohammad Nasim said this while speaking as the chief guest at a public-cum-freedom fighters' rally at Naogaon Shah Sharif Zindani College ground under Tarash upazila in the district after inaugurating a memorial of the War of Liberation.
The then deputy commander of Palashdanga Youth Camp MM Amzad Hossain Milon, MP, presided over the rally.
The minister urged Khaleda Zia to take preparations for the election refraining from undemocratic movements.
 In that election people will take decision who will govern the state, he added.
Highlighting various development activities of the present government, he said, "The government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina values its commitments. The present government held trial of the killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and also initiated trial of those who committed crimes against humanity."
