No power crisis right now: Nasrul Hamid

Tuesday, 11 March 2014

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu has claimed that there is no load-shedding in the country right now. "There's no load-shedding in the country, not for a second either," the state minister for power said while responding to a supplementary question from Jatiya Party MP Ziaul Huq Mridha at Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) on Monday evening. Nasrul Hamid said the government in its last tenure increased the power production from 3,000 megawatt (MW) to 11,000 MW. Replying to another supplementary question from BNF MP Abul Kalam Azad, he said the gas crisis in households will be mitigated by the next two months. "Works are going on to install two compressors at Ashuganj near Bhairab Bridge and Elenga. After the installation, there’ll be no gas crisis, too." he said, according to UNB.
