No relations with Al-Qaeda: Hifazat-e Islam

Hifazat-e Islam claimed that it has no relations with the audio message of Al-Qaeda’s current chief Dr Ayman Al-Zawahiri, calling to resist anti-Islam forces in Bangladesh.
“We think the audio message which is being circulated in the name of Al-Qaeda or Zawahiri is a conspiracy. It has nothing to do with us,” Hifazat’s central organising secretary Azizul Haque Islamabadi told bdnews24.com Saturday.
A statement by the organisation quoted its chief Ahmad Shafi and secretary general Zunaid Babunagari as saying that Zawahiri and Al-Qaeda were created by ‘imperialist forces’.
“We do not know who is circulating this message and what their intention is. We suspect it’s a new conspiracy against the country’s sovereignty and the Muslims of the country,” reads the statement.
The first two minutes of Zawihiri’s message showed screen footage of last year's May 5 police action at a Hifazat-e Islam rally in Dhaka. Then starts the message hitting at the Western media's alleged silence on 'how Muslims are massacred in Bangladesh'.
