No restrictions on foreign pilgrims to Bishwa Ijtema

Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun Saturday said that no restrictions would be imposed on the foreign pilgrims who would come to attend the Bishwa Ijtema, the second largest gathering of the Muslim Ummah on the bank of the river Turag, reports UNB.
"The government is expecting participation by more foreign pilgrims compared to the previous year and is taking all out preparations including security for smooth holding of the Bishwa Ijtema," she said while briefing reporters after a special law and order meeting on Bishwa Ijtema in the city.
Chaired by the Home Minister, the meeting was attended, among others, by Home Secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikder, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nur Mohammad, Additional Secretaries to the Home Ministry Md Golam Hossain and Iqbal Khan Chowdhury, Director General of RAB Hassan Mahmud Khandkar, Additional Inspector General of Special Branch of Police Md Javed Patwari and chiefs of intelligence agencies.
