India will have to wait for road transit facilities until Bangladesh upgrades its highways to four lanes and improves the transportation system, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said on Tuesday. Shahriar was addressing a seminar titled Bangladesh, China, India, Myanmar : Economic Corridor jointly organised by the Chittagong Chamber and Brac University at a local hotel. Emphasising on global connectivity, the state minister said Kolkata-Kunming meeting has discussed the expansion of economic relation among the four countries. He said that the growth centre like Chittagong will be included to
implement BCIM corridor which runs from Kolkata to Kunming. He emphasized the need for developing roads, rail and waterways communications in the context of bilateral agreements for successful regional cooperation, according to a news agency.
