No second chance for admission to DU from 2015-16 session

Dhaka University authorities Tuesday decided to allow only freshly passed HSC students to appear in its admission tests for a single year from the 2015-16 academic session, aiming to create an equal opportunity for all the aspirants.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the DU Admission Committee held at its Senate Building, according to a news agency.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, DU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique said, “Students who fail to get enrolled in the university in the year they passed HSC will not be able to reappear in the Dhaka University admission tests next year from the 2015-16 academic session.”
He further said those seeking admission to the DU will be eligible for the admission tests only in their passing year as allowing old students for the second time can deprive the first time admission seekers.
The VC also defended their decision saying they have taken the move to ensure fair chance for all students and make sure that no seat remains vacant.
He also observed that the admission seekers who sit for the test for the second time have a tendency to resort to fraud in the admission tests with the help of some coaching centres as they found those who have been held for admission test deception most of them are of the second-time admission aspirants.
