No tax from 0.136m good looking houses : NBR

Sylhet, Feb 2: Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Md Ghulam Hussain on Sunday said there are about 0.136 million good looking houses in the country that do not pay the tax. Addressing the inauguration of the Tax Information and Service Centre at Nayasarak in Sylhet city, the NBR chair said, "There are 0.136 million good looking houses in Sylhet and in the rest of the country. The owners of these houses don't pay any tax to the government." Terming tax mandatory like Zakaat, he called upon all concerned to pay taxes voluntarily. Ghulam Hussain said the revenue target from Sylhet zone this fiscal is Tk 4.80 billion.     — UNB
