No tax from 0.14m good looking houses: NBR

SYLHET: Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Md Ghulam Hussain Sunday said there are about 0.14 million good looking houses in the country that do not pay the tax.
Addressing the inauguration of the Tax Information and Service Centre at Nayasarak in Sylhet city, the NBR chair said, “There are 0.14 million good looking houses in Sylhet and in the rest of the country. The owners of these houses don’t pay any tax to the government.”
Terming tax as mandatory as Zakaat, he called on all concerned to pay taxes spontaneously, according to a news agency.
