No terrorist, militant act on BD soil: Kamal

Thursday, 9 October 2014

Bangladesh will never allow its territory, not even an inch, to be used by terrorist or militant outfits operating from India and Myanmar, State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said. The state minister came up with the remark while giving his reaction to Monday’s report published in the Times of India stating that two Bangladeshis – Shamim Shakil Ahmed and Swapan alias Subhan Mandal – were killed in a bomb explosion at Burdwan in India’s West Bengal state on October 2. Indian police claimed that the two, killed in the explosion while making bomb at a 2-storey house at Khargram, at the heart of Burdwan town, about 100km from Kolkata, were Bangladeshi national. ‘We’re not sure that the two slain people are the citizens of Bangladesh as claimed by the Indian daily. If it is so, we’ll take measures as Bangladesh never allows its land to be used by any militant or terrorist outfits operating from India or Myanmar,” Asaduzzaman affirmed, according to a news agency.
