No traffic jam now on highways, says Quader

NARAYANGANJ, June 02 (BSS): Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Sunday there is no traffic congestion on the highways ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr as the country's highways are in a better state.
"The country's roads and highways are in the best condition. So the Eid holidaymakers are not facing any traffic congestion," he said.
The minister came up with the remarks while speaking at the inauguration of the Highway Police Command and Monitoring Centre in Meghna toll plaza area at Sonargaon upazila in the district.
The minister visited Dhaka-Chattagram highway for the first time after his recovery from illness.
He expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to almighty Allah and said: "I am back from inevitable death due to the love of people."
"We will build Police Command Camp in various places for the security of the passengers," he said.
Replying to the remarks of BNP Secretary General on corruption, Quader said, BNP is a proven corrupt party as the country became champion in corruption in three times during the tenure of BNP.
DIG of Highway Police Atiqur Rahman, DIG of Dhaka Range Habibur Rahman, and Police Super of Narayanganj Harun-or-Rashid were present on the occasion.
