Noakhali AL leader killed in Laxmipur

A leader of Noakhali Awami League was slaughtered by unidentified miscreants at his native village in Sadar upazila of Laxmipur district on Sunday night. The dead is Yusuf Ali Selim, 54, finance secretary of Noakhali district unit of the ruling party, and son of late Tajul Islam. Police said a gang of miscreants attacked Yusuf near his village home at Titarkandi around 9:30pm and chopped him indiscriminately. Later, the attackers split his throat. Locals rescued the Awami League leader and whisked him off to Noakhali Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, according to UNB.
